Preview for April 2020 Plus Plus Comic

Alright. So ever since New Mutants was supposed to come out, Tracy and I have been planning to do a story about it. But we couldn’t super hammer out an idea, and then the release date would get too close, so we’d drop it.

But then it turns out the release date got moved! We’re not too late yet! So we picked it back up to work on it, but… still no idea, and the release date got close, so we dropped it.

And yeah, that just happened a handful of times, we are just so fucking late on making this comic, but it seems like the movie execs just decided to be even later, lol. 

Eventually, the Dawn of X started, and with that, Marvel’s New Mutants (2019 -) #5! Which inspired this issue, just Robby thirsting over Death Bird and Magik’s now-infamous “It was fuck or fight, and you have chosen poorly.”

This comic officially came out in July 2020, by the way, a couple of weeks before New Mutants hit theaters. So ayyy, beat the movie to the punch still. Pretty proud of that.

The New Mutants have found themselves at the mercy of the Shi’ar Empire after accidentally helping a crew of space pirates steal their stuff. Fortunately for them, the Shi’ar aren’t much for doing hard time. They’d much rather them make up for their crimes by escorting Deathbird, exiled rebel empress of the Shi’ar, back to her homeworld. But when the former queen’s holier-than-thou attitude gets on Magik’s nerves, Illyana decides that someone needs to put the royal back in her place.
